The man is a beast

The man is a beast

The man is a beast. That’s almost the only thing you can conclude after looking at and experiencing the work of Berlin-based artists, curators and theorists Alice Creischer and Andreas Siekmann. Injustice, greed and destruction are the elements of a world led by late capitalism: an ominous reality.

In the two-part exhibition In the Stomach of the Predators, which was on view at BAK, Utrecht (previously also in Bergen and Berlin), the two focused on the privatization of common resources, the so-called commons. The artists deal with issues of plant seeds, land ownership and intellectual property.

The complete review of the exhibition has been published in the paper #93 edition of Dutch art review platform Tubelight at the beginning of December 2014 (Dutch only).
